An Update
I am in middle of a much-needed break. Detailed post on this will come much later. Don't ask me when.
Ok, something about my break now. Went to a three day trip to Igatpuri, starting from Friday early morning till Sunday night. Though there was not much to see, it was a deserved break from hectic routine life. Trekking to a small mountain top bypassing a village called baiichi-waadi, hanging from the banyan roots wherever I could, visiting Bhandhardhara, Randha falls (tried to catch fish /tadpoles by bare hands there ;)), enjoying the cool waters in hot afternoon were some of my activities.
On the last day visited Bipaasana Center & Sula vineyards (around 2 kms from Nashik city). This was another experience. There is no sign-board to go there (complained to Sula people for this). So from Naveen Nashik to old one, District court, CBS, mahanagar Palika, some malls, cinema halls, Gangapur road and after 10-12 Maaghe-pudhe we reached our destination. Since I was the only one (out of 5 of us including one Belgian female) who could understand SOME marathi, had to play the role of navigator as well. Every time it was another 2 kms from that point (reminded me of software project delivery promises).
Anyways, I think I have started falling in love. Yes, I have started falling in love with this part of India.

Welcome to maharashtra :)
And you went to Nasik? That's my mom's city... Should have told me earlier, I could have told you where to go and what to do and all.
Your group wouldn't have needed to rely on you as navigator is what I am saying ;)
I knew it's your mom's city. :) Well, It was decided on the third day to visit Sula vineyards. Nashik (that's the correct spelling) is still pending. And for Igatpuri ? Thanks to a friend (native of Nashik), I had enough guidance.
Don't worry, I love being navigator. That way I can make the driver dancing err.. driving to my tunes. ;)
And how did you know that LJ?
Correct spelling (and pronounciation) is a matter of whole lot of debate. I spell it in both ways, though being (supposedly) derived from the Sanskrut word "nasika", I do prefer... you get it ;)
And that's what I was talking about when I said about "relying on you" *XYZ* you know what goes in the stars ;)
Hey... There is no problem in falling in love ...but you should know how to maintain that ...
Gochha??????
when talking in marathi, the city is referred to as Nashik. in hindi, we call it Nasik. its my home town, so I know :)
and what flieger says abt 'nasika' is true. shurpanakha from the ramayana fame is said to have lost her nose in this city.
Fleiger,
The mysterious LJ ;)
Hmmm Got to learn a lot about Maharashtra.
*XYZ* --- ok, ok.. I am waiting for my turn when I can say something similar. :P BTW, they all loved my company.
Prashant,
Welcome to my blog.
Maintaining the love? No probs. I am good at that.
BTW, this is not my main blog. The main blog is Cuckoo's Nest. It's mentioned in My Links. Keep visiting. Thanks.
Sameer,
Glad to see you again. Keep visiting. Oh I can see many natives of Nasik here. :)) Next time I won't face any problems..hotels, directions etc etc. :P
Got to learn a lot about Maharashtra.
And how did you like it?
I think from next time on I will be using something like *EL* to save me time ;)
And I am sure your company is lovable (companies are normally...), but I was talking about you *EL* ;)
Now what? *blinking eyes* What is this *EL*? You don't apply your short-cuts here. mala mahite nahi :(
No, it can't be *Evil Laugh*
Why can't it be "Evil Laugh"? I told you, as I will be using this quite often, it's better for me to save typing such long words ;)
It seems you are just a step ahead of me....Igatpuri is on my list as well....I was thinking of doing this round end of this year...now will do it next year....would love to see more photos if you have them...!
BTW - did you pick any wines..
ps - how did the water sound - I love the way water makes sound...!
